Inferno Cop so is the spiritual sequel to Axe Cop, or at least its weirder Japanese cousin. Both run on rule of cool, with gimmicky writing process. Axe Cop takes its ideas from a five year old, while for Inferno Cop iirc Trigger had the rule that they couldn’t work for it any longer than two hours per episode. Which means that both attempt to walk the tightrope between bizarre and bad; whether they succeed or not depends on how well you like that sort of deliberate wackiness.
