-The Disappearance of Mr.Nyaa-
CJ, Jimmy and IBCF discuss the disappearance of a well known Anime Torrent site. They dive into the benefits of torrents and how the site’s absents effects the anime community. Afterwords, IBCF reveals what he’s been watching in secrecy, Jimmy opens up about his feelings for My Hero Academia and CJ talks about a documentary about cats called Kedi.
-Excerpt-
CJ: Now I’m not sure what I’m going to do about watching the rest of Doremi when I get to it. Because I’m thinking of sending you (Jimmy) a hard drive through the mail and you can just add the episodes I’m missing on to it and send it back to me.
Jimmy: I’ll mail you a dozen DVDs that I burned. It’ll be like the old days of trading VHSs.
CJ: That’s what I was thinking.
Jimmy: That’s what it feels like we regressed to.
A lot of fans weren’t living up to their side of the fansub bargain; in exchange for free shows, fansub viewers are supposed to promote and generate buzz for these shows to pave the way for a legitimate release. Since what was being exchanged was labor (which everyone has) not money, even poor otaku had something they could contribute to the fandom, either in the translating and subtitling or in the distribution and promotion.
That clearly wasn’t happening, though — otherwise the loss of a single website wouldn’t have caused so many of these old fansubs to go extinct.

Good stuff. IBCF really bounces off of Jimmy and CJ nicely. I know you guys mix up who’s on this cast, but I hope this trio comes back for more.
